Crostini Recipes
There are so many reasons why I love crostini recipes. One of the biggest reasons is being able to layer so many flavors on one little toasted round of bread. This recipe is a sweet and savory combination, which includes fig preserves, bacon, pecans, and goat cheese with a drizzle of honey and balsamic vinegar.
There are times I crave something different that hits on all the flavor points, and this recipe never lets me down. Call it whatever you want hors d’eoeuvre, tidbit, or snack this is one classy appetizer for get togethers with family or friends.
Serve fig bacon goat cheese crostinis with a smart cocktail or glass of wine. Add a charcuterie board with a variety of meats, cheeses and fruits and your guests will be coming back for more.
If you’re looking for an extra tasty light meal, crostinis and a healthy green salad make a winning combination. For more crostini recipe ideas click on my post Grilled Peach Crostini.

Recipe Notes:
The recipe topping measurements above are approximate. You may want a little more or less of any of the toppings. You know what I always say…make it like you like it.
A small silicone brush makes applying the olive oil to the baguette slices before broiling quick and easy.
To save time for entertaining, prepare your toasted rounds ahead of time. Cool completely and place in a large zip close baggie or an airtight container. Same goes for the bacon. You can cook the bacon the day before, chop or break into small pieces and store in a zip close baggie or airtight container in the refrigerator.
Aged balsamic vinegar is what takes this fig bacon goat cheese crostini over the top. Buy a good quality barrel aged balsamic that is full bodied and thick like syrup to keep on hand for recipes like this one.
