Hello, I’m Michelle the creator of Thistle Key Lane, a lifestyle blog focusing on simple decorating ideas, fun crafts, do-it-yourself projects and easy recipes.
The idea of starting a blog as a hobby, started when my daughter and son-in-law bought their first home. My daughter was constantly talking about home improvement and decorating projects with her girlfriends. I realized it was my opportunity to share what I had been doing in our home for more than thirty years.
I have always held a fascination for interior design, and inherited my mom’s classic style of decorating. My dad on the other hand influenced my love for vintage finds and antiques. For him it was the anticipation, and the hunt for treasures that were unique or had an interesting past.
My home is a true reflection of me and all the things that bring me and my family joy. I would describe my decor style as classic with an eclectic mix of vintage and cottage elements. I also love incorporating items into my home that have a fun story or special memory behind them.
My passions include decorating, painting and making a mess in the kitchen. I drink copious amounts of tea balanced by a little bit of wine. When I’m not working, blogging, walking our dog Moose or running after the grand littles, you can find me on Instagram and Pinterest.
