Wall Basket With Autumn Flowers
I recently installed some coat hooks on the short wall between our front doors and the laundry room. This will make a handy spot for winter jackets and scarves. I also figured out that I now have a pretty place to add seasonal color with flowers.
These wood hooks are easy to install, and can also be painted to blend in with the wall color. I haven’t decided if I’m going to paint these yet like the ones I installed in our bathroom upstairs. You can check out how they look in my post, How To Use Wall Hooks For Hanging Artwork.
I like that the hooks are barely noticeable when not in use, since the focal point is the handsome deer above.
Autumn Wall Basket Arrangement
This cute little Longaberger basket made its first appearance in my post, Spring Wall Basket Upcycle Project. White paint tones down the original orange color creating a more attractive container for showing off flowers. It’s just the right size basket for this small space, and I can also use it as storage.
My grocery store fillers and flowers include brown eucalyptus leaf, lemon leaf, crimson mum and orange safflower. I also have a few left over straw flowers from another arrangement. They look so delicate and I love their variation of colors from soft peach and yellows to deep reds.
The spiky red foliage I figured out is grevillea. I had to look that one up, because I don’t see it that very often. I just love it when the floral department bundles seasonal greenery together. Sure makes flower arranging a whole lot easier for someone like me.
By the way my Longaberger basket has a plastic liner, but I still use a large plastic bag inside to hold the water and flowers. I want to make sure I don’t have any leaks, plus it makes clean up a breeze. You can find these garden scissors here.
When these flowers fade I can add a dried arrangement, and then evergreens for Christmas. Oh the possibilities!
