My fall entryway with navy and yellow is ready to say welcome home. Navy just happens to be one of my favorite colors and when I add a pop of yellow the whole room lights up.
Embracing Fall Home Tours Blog Hop
Today I’m joining over 20 bloggers for an Embracing Fall Home Tours Blog Hop, hosted by my friend Amber from Follow The Yellow Brick Home. It’s so much fun being part of a blog hop to see how everyone interprets the season. All the links are provided at the end of the post. If you’re stoping by from The Tattered Pew, I’m thrilled to have you. Kelly always amazes me with her fresh decorating ideas.
Nothing says welcome home like a pretty wreath or basket, decorating the front door.
The willow basket has a new look filled with dried twigs and branches. It’s one of the easiest ways to decorate a front door that I can imagine, unless you’re buying something ready-made. To view more ideas click on Willow Basket Door Arrangement for Early Fall.
The navy accent wall wraps around to the kitchen providing a rich backdrop for every season. It was a bold decision going with dark walls, but I still love it with no regrets.
Fall Entryway With Navy And Yellow
If you follow my seasonal posts, then you know how much I love garlands. Hanging from the vintage wall map is a multi colored paper leaf garland held with mini clothes pins. This a super easy DIY garland that only takes a few minutes to make.
Yellow pumpkins are the theme this year. I can’t decide if I like the striped tiger pumpkins or the solid colors best. Either way, they make a pretty vignette grouped together on the entry table.
A group of sunflowers on the other side are just about at their end. I may try to dry these like the ones featured in Simple Fall Home Decor Ideas.
The antique tea box in the center holds dried ears of Indian corn. This is the first time I have ever displayed anything inside the box. It’s one of those antiques to be admired, but not handled very often, due to its fragile hinges.
I’m really excited about the blue glass table lamp that I found at end of summer. It really gives the table the updated look it needed. Did I mention the glass is blue? Love it!
Can’t have fall decor without a touch of plaid. Storage baskets under the table hold a couple of plaid pillows for a boost of color and pattern.
More ways to add Navy And Yellow
On the other side of the entry I have more navy and yellow accents for fall. A waffle weave textured throw creates a soft backdrop for mums, that will be blooming any day now. In a week or so, I’ll plant them outside by the front door for a beautiful pop of color.
I found the French inspired metal box last year before Christmas. The trim was originally red, but I painted over it in white so I could use any time of year.
The cup rack is a handy spot for coats and bags, but I also like adding seasonal touches. Right now, I’m keeping it simple with Audubon bird postcards in fall-ish colors and a preserved boxwood wreath.
Do you like to decorate the inside of your front door? I have a permanent metal hook on each side of the door for hanging wreaths or baskets.
Be sure to follow Thistle Key Lane on Pinterest, where the boards are up to date with seasonal inspiration that you can use right now!
The Embracing Fall Home Tours Blog Hop continues with Crissy from First Day Of Home. You don’t want to miss her beautiful front porch and smart tips. All the blog hop links are below so you can click through at your leisure. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy.
Cheers!

Your blue walls are beautiful! You have styled the table in your entry so classic and incorporated a real feel for fall. The pumpkin in the grapevine on the floor is just the touch to draw the eye throughout your fall display. Wrapping the book in the blue and white paper is a nice touch! Bravo!

I absolutely love your paper leaves and the ticking covered books are truly charming!
Michelle Meyer says
Thank you Laura! The paper leaves were a quick solution to our lack of autumn leaves, which usually change color then fall off the same day down here.
Crissy @ First Day of Home says
Oh, I’m in love with your entryway, Michelle. The striped tiger pumpkins look wonderful next to the blue walls. I can’t quite put my finger on how I would describe your lovely decorating style. Is it influenced by New England a bit? Whatever it is, I always get inspired by your special touches.
Michelle Meyer says
Thank you Crissy! My style is very classic, but then I have this urge to accessorize with quirky things. The wall map is a good example. It’s as if I don’t want to take decorating too seriously, so I throw in eclectic elements just for fun! Mental LOL!

Your home looks lovely all decked out for fall. I so much enjoyed taking in all of your thoughtful decor details as I slowly read and scrolled through your post. My grandmother used a basket on her door and changed the arrangement seasonally. I always loved that look. I also like how you covered a book with ticking fabric. What a great way to add some color and texture to a display.
Michelle Meyer says
Thank you Paula for your sweet comments. I’m already thinking about how I’m going to use the door basket for Christmas. So many possibilities!

Michelle,
I love your navy and gold colors for Fall. I am loving that combination so much right now that I painted my new cabinets in the laundry room makeover VERY NAVY by Behr and added gold handles.
Maps always capture my attention, and I love how you used one in your entry.
I am so far behind on commenting on blogs, and think I will never get caught up… with all of the upcoming holiday posts.
Happy Fall,
Judith
