I love homemade brownies, especially an irresistible dark chocolate fudge brownie recipe like this one. Do you ever update or change your old recipes? It’s one of those things I do quite often. This time I took my regular fudge brownie recipe over to the dark side.
The dark cocoa gives the chocolate fudge a richer flavor making this my all time favorite brownie. I mean there’s no way I can pass up a rich tasting super moist brownie with a light flaky crust on top. You can bet my will power just left the building!
One thing I love about brownies is how easy they are to serve as a simple snack with a glass of milk or cup of coffee. They’re also delicious served warm with vanilla ice cream and a little chocolate sauce to make them extra fancy.

Dark Chocolate Fudge Brownie Recipe questions
Do I need a hand or stand mixer?
When making brownies just use a large spoon and mix by hand, no mixer required. The batter will be very thick, so you’ll want to use a rubber spatula to scrape every drop into the pan.
Is this a gluten free recipe?
I made this batch of brownies with gluten free flour (King Author Baking Company), because we have a family member that is sensitive to gluten. It is such an easy substitution to make and seriously I can’t tell the difference.
What can I substitute for pecans?
Substitute chopped walnuts for pecans for a delicious change.
What if I don’t have dark cocoa?
You can substitute regular cocoa for the dark cocoa.

THANK YOU! Such a good update to a tried & true recipe! One of our favorite casual gathering desserts is to cut the brownies slightly larger (about 12 per pan) and top with fresh berries and fresh whipped cream. Favorite berry to top with is raspberry. I agree about the gluten free flour sub – the GF flour has come a long way and most people don’t even notice the difference. We have Celiac in our family, so use a lot of GF flour instead of AP
Fresh whipped cream and raspberries on top sounds divine to me! I appreciate your positive feedback so much!
