Vintage Vignette For Spring. Celebrate the season by creating your own springtime tray vignette or centerpiece with pretty flowers and vintage finds.

Seasonal Saturdays
Happy weekend! Today I’m back to join my friend Amber of Follow The Yellow Brick Home for a Seasonal Saturdays roundup of spring and Easter ideas. Our spring season can be so fleeting where I live. So we have to enjoy every pretty day that comes our way before summer is bearing down on us.
At the end of my post you will find links to visit my friends from different parts of the country celebrating the spring season too. If my friend Laura from Decor To Adore sent you, welcome to Thistle Key Lane. I’m so happy you are here!
Vintage Vignette For Spring
The tray centerpiece on our kitchen table is all about celebrating spring with pretty flowers and vintage goodies. I also love tucking in special finds from nature that add a bit of interest or texture. As an example, check out my recent garden basket vignette on our entry table here.
Vintage Finds
Every once in a while, I get a thrill on my thrifting adventures, and find extra special pieces. On my last excursion, I found a piece of majolica pottery, and felt like I won the jackpot! This sweet pitcher is not in the best condition, and unfortunately can no longer hold water, but I love it anyway.
I’ll let you in on a little secret that works great for me. I’m using a plastic freezer bag inside the pitcher to hold water and the fresh flowers. If you buy a vase or pitcher and are not sure if is water tight, you can test it by putting water in the container then set it in a casserole dish. Leave it over night to make sure their are no slow leaks.
Here’s a list of additional special vintage finds that I’m including in my spring vignette as well as the pitcher.
- mini ironstone jar and a match holder
- Field Guide To Wildflowers book
- the sweetest chocolate lamb mold
Don’t you just love how unrelated pieces can work together? That just goes to show, you can use what you already have, to create the most pleasing vignettes. Speaking of unrelated pieces, the botanical candle holder is a DIY project that you can check out here.
Spring Bird’s Nest
Sweet bird’s nest are perfect for spring displays. Even though it’s not a real nest, I’m still giving it a prominent place under a glass cloche. The little speckled eggs are made from air dry clay with a coat of light blue craft paint.
By the way, did you know you can make almost any object look more special or important when displaying it under a cloche? It’s a wonderful trick. Try it! Check out this post here for more cloche ideas.
Here are three more posts to check out for spring inspiration using items you probably all ready have around your house.
Be sure to follow Thistle Key Lane on Pinterest, where the boards are up to date with seasonal inspiration you can use right now!
Now I’m going to send you to visit my clever decorating friend Cindy at County Road 407 for her darling spring green tablescape. Keep scrolling to see what the rest of my sweet Seasonal Saturdays friends are up to today.
Cheers!

Shelley
Thank you Shelley! I’m so happy to hop with you this weekend too!
What a stunning vignette! That pitcher is such a find and I love the colors and how you pulled in similar colors the other accents. I love the cloche and the little bunny mold. The flowers are beautiful too. I just love it all!
Enjoy your spring beauty while it lasts and have a beautiful and blessed Easter!
Thank you so much Amber for the invite! Hope you are enjoying spring and have a wonderful Easter!
I would FLIP over that Majolica pitcher! I have a small collection of it too and cherish it because it’s pricey! I love that in yours, the color is so soft and faded looking. It’s amazing! You reminded me that I bought stickers to make a candle holder like yours and TOTALLY FORGOT! But they are right here sitting in the basket on me desk. I am going to pull them out and do something with them for summer. Love all of your creativity. Your tray vignette is beautiful! Are you choosing a date to get together? 😉
Thank you Cindy! I appreciate your sweet comments so much! I think it is your turn to set the date LOL! Looking forward to it my friend!
