Holiday Floral Vignette With DIY Flameless Candle Holder. Add a little glow to a holiday vignette with a mini DIY flameless tapered candle holder. What a sweet accent to add to a centerpiece or place setting. You may want to make more than one.

Holiday Floral Vignette With DIY Flameless Candle Holder
Do you have special ways, that you like to decorate for Christmas each year? Me too, and this is one of them. During the holidays, I enjoy creating little arrangements, and vignettes like this one on our kitchen table. Usually they are very simple with items from the kitchen or around the house. Add some greenery and just a few blooms, and before you know it you have a centerpiece.
Creating The Vignette
To create this vignette centerpiece, I’m starting with a green painted wood riser, (click here for the tutorial). I like using these little risers, a cutting board or a tray to corral my vignettes. I also enjoy adding a book or two to my vignettes. One of my favorites this time of year is A Christmas Carol.
For the floral arrangement, I’m using a small white pitcher to hold magnolia stems, white roses, pink mums, white alstroemeria plus a few sprigs of cedar. To bring in some of the scents of Christmas, a vintage latte bowl holds cinnamon sticks, star anise, whole cloves and pinecones.
Did you see my Christmas Home Tour from last week? If not you can click on my post here. I’m using a variety of paper ornaments on our tree this year, and have a few extras. I just love these muted colors and the pretty shapes of these ornaments.
The last addition to the vignette is a sweet mini flameless candle in a terracotta pot with sheet moss. I don’t know about you but I’m smitten.
How To Make A Mini Candle Holder
These flameless 4″ candles are part of a Christmas tree clip on candle set. When decorating our tree this year, I had a few of the clip on candle holders break. So the broken plastic holders went into the trash, and I came up with a different way to use the leftover 4″ flameless tapered candles. A pretty cute way, if I say so myself!
Here’s what you will need to make a similar candle holder like mine.
- 4″ flameless tapered candles
- mini terracotta pot or votive candle holder
- styrofoam
- craft knife or kitchen knife
- sheet moss
Instructions
- First cut a piece of styrofoam to fit inside your mini terracotta pot.
- Then add your candle pressing it into the styrofoam.
- Pack some sheet moss pieces around the candle to hold it in place and that’s it.
- If you want you can add some ribbon around the top of the pot.
