Summer To Fall Bar Cart With Sunflowers. See how to start transitioning from late summer to early fall with beautiful flowers that bring in subtle autumn colors for a bar cart or table top. Sunflowers are my go to solution for decorating this time of year, and they always put a smile on my face.

After a crazy busy summer and short vacation, I’m ready to get back on track sprucing up the house. Right now we are far from sweater weather. However, I do enjoy the anticipation of that first crisp chill in the air on morning walks. Until then, I’ll be making seasonal additions little by little around our home.
You know how great minds think alike? Well today, I’m joining a few blogging buds for Summer To Fall Decorating Ideas Hop hosted by Amber of Follow The Yellow Brick Home. If you are popping in from my friend Shelley of Calypso In The Country, I’m so happy to welcome you to Thistle Key Lane. I think you’ll agree Shelley’s hydrangeas are gorgeous!
Summer To Fall Bar Cart With Sunflowers
It’s becoming a tradition of mine to decorate with sunflowers this time of year. I love all varieties of these big bold blooms, and the feeling of positive energy they bring into the room. Luckily, I found sunflowers at the grocery store with purple petals that I don’t get to see very often.
Those rich autumn colors of the sunflowers create a cozy feeling in the family room, and bring attention to the bar cart. I have to say the multifunctional rattan bar cart is one of my better buys that never disappoints me. Plus I love having a pretty spot to display a simple bouquet of flowers.
Adding Charm To The Bar Cart
To add a bit of charm to the bar cart, I’m using some of my favorite vintage pieces with a variety of textures. Seltzer bottles sport new striped ribbons, while a wicker stoneware bottle stands sentinel to one side. The blue and white dish that was once a candle holder, now keeps champagne corks of happy celebrations. I’m also loving the brass quail here. Is it me or does she look rather stern?
A vintage zinc drawer on the bottom shelf of the bar cart holds a collection of Scotch whisky. We are founding out just how handy it is keeping the bottles in place, when our 60 pound puppy slides into the cart. Yikes LOL!

Michelle your bar cart arrangment is absolutely fabulous! I love the muted colors of the sunflowers. They truly are a perfect transitional element to move into fall. Thank you for all your wonderful inspiration!
Thank you so much Laura! I hope to decorate with more sunflowers in the coming weeks!
Michelle – I love how you styled your beautiful bar cart! That flower arrangement is stunning mixed with the woven accessories and pretty items. Gorgeous! So great to hop with you again! Enjoy your weekend!
Cheers! – Shelley
Thank you Shelley! Cheers to you and joy your Sunday!
Oh I love those subtle sunflowers! The colors are perfect for this time of year and so beautifully styled on your bar cart. I love that bowl of corks and the little brass quail too! I have a similar one on my piano. I always love decorating with feathered friends for fall!
I am going to be on the lookout for a bar cart like yours. You have inspired me to style one up. We really only drink wine occasionally but it wouldn’t be a Scottish themed fall around here without a Scotch bottle I guess!
I also love all of your other sunflower ideas. It didn’t show up in the pictures, but I have the sunflower little water color you painted for me on the round foyer table. It is one of my favorite little treasures!
Thank you so much for joining the hop! Looking forward to sharing more ideas in the coming months!
Thank you sweet friend! I’m thrilled you still enjoy your sunflower watercolor! Hope you find a cute bar cart, and have fun styling it! Big hugs!
Bring on the sunflowers! I think it should be a tradition too, since you do it so well! I think the colors work beautifully in your home, and I’ve always loved your bar cart. I still want one, but can’t get passed how busy they all look with so many colors. When I try using one of our cabinets, it looks like a big mess! How does yours look calming?! Maybe it’s because you have a true bar cart and put the bottles on the bottom? Unfortunately, I have nowhere to add a cart. Anyway, love your styling and all of the wonderful ideas!
Thank you Cindy! More times than I like to admit, I feel like my decorating is big hot mess. When I decorate with all the things I want, it tends to feel claustrophobic or too overwhelming. So I end up editing like crazy until I have a look I can live with.
