Fall Kitchen Arrangement With Sunflowers. Today I’m sharing how to style a fall kitchen arrangement with sunflowers. I’ll also show you three different ways to style flowers on a bread board using a variety of dishes, ironstone jars and oyster shells.
Fall Kitchen Arrangement With Sunflowers
I think sunflowers season must be here. Yesterday I was stopped in my tracks passing by the grocery store floral department. There were so many gorgeous varieties of sunflowers, but I was completely smitten these little beauties. I’m loving these dark petals, and how pretty these sunflowers look with fresh greenery.
Just for fun, I’m sharing not one but three ways that I came up with to display flowers using a bread board instead of a tray. You can create a similar display for your kitchen counter or island.
Sunflowers And Oyster Shells
The first vignette with my sunflower arrangement is more of a end of summer to early fall look. Its light coastal feel comes from a collection of oyster shells from a trip to Amelia Island several years ago.
I just love the gray and blue colors of the oyster shells. A folded linen dish towel softens the look, and brings in more of the those coastal blues.
These faded blues also compliment the cute rattan pumpkin basket. This is a Michael’s find from last year or maybe the year before.
Sunflowers With Apples and Ironstone Jars
The second vignette features honey crisp apples, which brings in a healthy pop of red and yellow. You know your kitchen counter or table creates the perfect opportunity for displaying fruits and vegetables. I almost always tomatoes and avocados out in view.
Next to the plates and flowers, I have just enough room on the bread board for three of my vintage ironstone jars. They come in handy for storing kitchen string, matches and toothpicks. Sunflowers With Brown Transferware
For vignette number three, I went for the whole enchilada, as they say. This one feels a little more like early fall with brown transferware plates and a mix of odds and ends. These little plates are a recent find that I plan to add to my wall plate rack when we get further into the fall season. If you missed my recent post, click over to Styling a Plate Display Wall Rack. I’m extremely happy about this new addition to the kitchen!
A café bowl on top of the plates holds shallots, reminding me that I need to cook this afternoon. An ironstone pitcher is holding my grandmother’s antique silverware. Other odds and ends include a pewter duck trinket box and a coastal candle holder. For the tutorial click over to my post, DIY Raffia And Shell Candle Holders.
I love experimenting with little vignettes like these, which all include an organic element in addition to the flowers. I also enjoy mixing in unrelated items, because they make the displays all the more interesting.
Let’s see what you can find for your fall table or counter arrangement. Happy hunting!
- acorns
- pine cones
- sea shells
- stacks of dishes
- fresh fruits or vegetables
- mini pumpkins
- unshelled nuts
- dried gourds
- mini pie tins or jello molds
