September Pinterest Challenge
It’s time for our September Pinterest Challenge, and this month we are in our kitchens whipping up our favorite pumpkin recipes. Sounds like our host Cindy over at County Road 407 is counting on another fun Pinterest Pumpkin Palooza. I’m in how about you?!
If you are popping in from my friend Lora of Create and Ponder I’m so happy you are here. How cute is Lora’s mini pumpkin charcuterie! She always comes up with the best ideas.

Fall Is In The Air
Now that fall is officially here, we can plunge ourselves into the world of pumpkin recipes, from pumpkin spice lattes to pumpkin ravioli. I recently shared my pumpkin coffee cake muffins, which you can find here. They are so moist and delicious with a mug of coffee. Yum! You’ll want to take a look at my Pumpkin Spice Recipe to keep on hand for your fall baking, and my Pumpkin Bread Recipe too. Don’t forget to pin them for later!
For today’s challenge I wanted to share something a little different with a savory recipe for pumpkin goat cheese dip. If you like the sharp earthy taste of goat cheese, then you will love the addition of pumpkin puree with a little bit of sweet honey. The extra drizzle of hot honey over the top, plus the variety of garnishes is a real treat for your tastebuds.
Savory Pumpkin Goat Cheese Dip Recipe
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 4 oz. goat cheese (chèvre)
- 4 oz. cream cheese
- 1 tbs. honey
GARNISH
- hot honey
- thin sliced green onion tops
- fresh cracked pepper
- micro greens
- Place goat cheese and cream cheese in a mixing bowl, and set on the counter to come to room temperature. About 20 minutes should be long enough.
- Using a hand mixer, blend goat cheese and cream cheese together until smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Mix in the pumpkin puree and honey until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer pumpkin goat cheese mixture to a serving bowl, and place in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
- When ready to serve, drizzle with hot honey, then garnish with thin sliced green onion tops, fresh cracked pepper and micro greens.
- Serve with vegetables sticks, crackers or toasted bread rounds.
Optional Garnishes
You can come up with your own garnish combinations if you wish. This is the part that’s always the most fun for me. Keep in mind that pretty much everything goes with hot honey. 😉
- try different herbs such as thyme, rosemary or chives
- pecan, walnut or pistachio pieces
- pepitas or sunflower seeds
- bacon pieces
Recipe Notes For Savory Pumpkin goat cheese dip
You can make this recipe without the cream cheese, but you will want to increase the goat cheese to 8 ounces. However I feel like the cream cheese does give the dip a little bit more body.
By the way, be sure to use pumpkin puree instead of pumpkin pie filling.
In my opinion, who ever came up with the original idea of hot honey is brilliant. I love the extra punch it gives to the so many dishes including this pumpkin goat cheese dip. If you’re not a fan of hot honey that’s alright, you can use regular clover honey. You know what I always say, make it like you like it.

Now I’m going to send you over to my friend Julie of My Wee Abode for her delicious pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. This recipe sounds like a real keeper to me!
