Last Minute Christmas Vignette With An Evergreen Arrangement. Today I thought I would share a last minute Christmas vignette that I worked on yesterday. There’s still plenty of time to create a fresh evergreen bouquet before family and friends arrive to celebrate.
Of course you don’t have to think of an excuse or be hosting to create something pretty for your kitchen table or island. I created this just for us to enjoy.
Things are surprisingly calm this week, at least for the moment, so I plan on spending a lot of time in the kitchen baking. This is one of my favorite times during the holidays. I love having a Christmas movie on in the family room, while I keep an eye on the oven.
How’s your count down to Christmas going? Are you still shopping or are you all done? I hope you are finding ways to thoroughly enjoy yourself, and you’re soaking in all the splendor of the holiday season.
Christmas Vignette With An Evergreen Arrangement
To build a vignette I usually start with a tray. However this round bread board is a nice size, and I like how the dark wood contrasts with the light finish on our kitchen table.
I love creating mini arrangements like this one. It has greenery and few floral pieces such as green hydrangea, a white rose, blue thistle flowers and green dianthus, that I borrowed from another arrangement. There’s also holly clippings from our back yard.
The little white crock that I’m using was once a candle holder, but now I use it from time to time as a vase. I almost used on of my Christmas mugs, but decided to use something a little more plain.
On a little stack of plates I have three wood finial ornaments with wide red and white ribbon. These are a recent purchase that I couldn’t pass up. I switched out the ribbon that they came with for this sweet look.
To round out the vignette, I’m using my vintage lantern that I found a couple of years ago at an antique mall. Whenever I need a tall rustic element, this is what I grab. It may be missing its glass panes and base, but I love incorporating it in so many arrangements.
On top of the lantern I tied a lazy bow with green velvet ribbon, allowing it to hang loose and curl at the ends. Don’t you just love those raw edges? A few holly stems provide additional color, and will stay green for a couple of weeks.
