Woodland Christmas Tablescape. See how to create a woodland Christmas tablescape with an evergreen and floral centerpiece. This holiday table is all about arranging a rustic and cozy setting with woodsy accents.
The holiday season seems to be slowing down a bit and I’m so ready to relax and enjoy the general splendor around us. Our decorations this year are rather understated in muted colors that feel very laid back. One of the reasons why we are keeping it simple this year is the new addition to the family.
Moose, our new puppy is full of energy and demanding all of our attention which of course we anticipated. I’m finding nap times are the best, and luckily he’s not too overly interested in the decorations…yet. 😉
Woodland Christmas Tablescape
Most of the table is set with items I’ve had for many years, although I did buy some new cloth napkins. These are so pretty in a neutral linen color with a green pine tree. Instead of a napkin rings I’m using some left over green velvet ribbon.
At each place setting I’m using plaid plates, with our everyday white dishes on a rustic twig charger. The mismatched silverware that is a family hand me down is freshly polished for the holidays. The elk handle knives were a gift from my father in law when the Mister and I were first married. They are hand crafted from elk antler sheds, and still look so handsome after all they years.
More hand me downs include the pretty vintage stemware. I’m loving the little pops of color and sparkle they add to this rustic table and they look so elegant too. The colors are deep mauve, cranberry, pine green and tomato red. Speaking of sparkle what’s a holiday setting without candles? I love these little votives and the romantic touch they add to the table in the evening.
Woodland Evergreen Centerpiece
Every year I look forward to creating an evergreen centerpiece. They usually last a couple of weeks, and I love that wonderful pine scent that brings the outdoors in. That’s when it really feels like Christmas time around here.
I’m using an extra plaid plate to anchor the arrangement. Do you recognize the stick vase? For DIY instructions you can see my post here, and make one for your table in no time at all.
The evergreens stems are made up of cedar, and different varieties of pine. The florals consist of Queen Ann’s lace, deep red hypericum, and green ball dianthus. Around the base I’m using a few left over cedar stems, pinecones, walnuts and star anise.
I have to tell you, I never know what I will find in the grocery store floral department. It can be a real hit or miss, but I think think this odd mix of florals works pretty well together. At least it all compliments the green and red theme I have going.

Beautiful, Michelle. Wondering where you found those awesome tree napkins, too? Too late to try and find something like that, I wonder? I did a woodland winter tablescape for Christmas and loved everything but my napkins. The green i used was a little too grey green and just was off a bit – no one but we weird decorators would ever realize it, but there’s the rub. We DO notice when a color isn’t perfect. Love yours.

Hi Michele, I found the napkins at Pottery Barn. I think they are on sale now so maybe you can pick some up before they are all gone. 😊

Thank you so much for stopping by! The training is going well. Our favorite saying around here is, the moose is loose! LOL!
