Rustic And Cozy Christmas Family Room. This year our family room feels so rustic and cozy with natural elements and muted colors of the season. The colors I’m concentrating on are shades of green, rusty red and brown that work so well in our home for the holidays.

Rustic And Cozy Christmas Family Room
My Christmas decorating always starts with what I already have, with the addition of ribbon, tree ornament crafts and maybe floral picks. I’m still loving the woodland theme from last year, so I’m adding a few more rustic elements with pinecones, berries and woodsy colors.
Of course we have cozy pillows and throw blankets, because hey we know winter will arrive someday. I’m also sharing a look at the mantel, Christmas tree, bar cart and holiday table top styling.
Decorating The Mantel
On the mantel I’m layering two faux cedar garlands together for a relaxed draped look. For the rustic element I’m layering large pinecones and some faux berry stems. You will find links for a similar cedar garland here and pinecones here.
I’m using the same bottle brush trees from last Christmas, however this display is a smaller assortment. To see last years woodland family room tour click on my post here.
To balance the other side of the mantel I’m using three brass candle holders with caramel colored tapers. I’m loving how these colors are working together for the Christmas season. You will find these candles here.
Rustic Woodland Christmas Tree
Our tree is not only full of woodland critters, but also the ornaments from projects I’ve been sharing with you. You’ll find tutorials on all three projects by checking out these posts below. One thing I love about these ornaments is that they’re made with natural materials.
This year I’m adding a few more berry picks to the tree for interest, and simple cascading green velvet ribbon for soft texture. The cute clip on LED candles really give the tree a nostalgic old world feel that adds so much warmth to the room. They are especially pretty at night. You will find the LED flameless candles here.
Holiday Bar Cart
On the bar cart I have an evergreen arrangement much like the one on the entry table. You can read all about the neutral and gold Christmas entryway by clicking here. This smaller arrangement features Norfolk pine, juniper stems plus some brown magnolia leaves for a rustic touch.
I’m really enjoying using ribbon this year on all sorts holiday and everyday items even seltzer bottles. Don’t you just love the mini wreath with ribbon on the artwork too?
Rustic and Cozy Table top Styling
What do you think about these wicker trees? It was an unplanned purchase that I couldn’t pass up. The wicker trees really don’t need any ornamentation, but as I said, I’m adding ribbon to almost everything this year.
On the side table a vintage copper bowl holds greenery, pinecones, a deer shed and candle. It’s such an easy arrangement to create. You may want to use a flameless candle with a remote if you make something like it.
I’m truly loving every bit of our holiday decor this year. I got a big jump on getting the decorations up, because of this little addition to the family last weekend. You will be seeing lots more of Moose in the years to come. It’s a bit chaotic around here right now, but we are loving every minute of it!
