Just in time for cooler weather I’m sharing a bourbon apple cider cocktail recipe that I think you’re going to love. This is a delicious seasonal beverage, and it makes a pretty presentation with a fresh slice of apple.

Crafting A Cocktail
When it comes to mixed drinks I have three approaches. First, I buy premium liquors, because the quality really makes a difference when creating a cocktail for sipping and savoring.
Second, I believe in simplicity, which means I like uncomplicated recipes with a short list of ingredients. And third, whenever possible I use fresh ingredients.
Bourbon Apple Cider Cocktail Recipe
- 2 oz. Bourbon
- 2 oz. Apple Cider
- 1/2 oz. Cointreau
- dash of Orange Bitters
- dash of Angostura Bitters
- garnish with an apple slice (optional)
Combine all ingredients in a glass and stir. Then pour over ice in a fresh glass and garnish with an apple slice.
What makes this recipe so good?
While sipping this cocktail, you’ll notice that the apple cider compliments the flavors in the bourbon, while the Cointreau adds a brightness that marries the two.
One of the reasons why the flavors of the apple cider and bourbon are distinct is that I use them in equal parts.
Does this recipe have any variations?
Sometimes I change up the garnish, and I add a sprig of thyme or rosemary instead of an apple slice. The fresh herb aroma is hard to beat.
Another suggestion I have is making this recipe without Cointreau. It’s truly delicious either way, so I say experiment, and make it like you like it.
Is this a good batch cocktail?
Of course. Make a batch of bourbon apple cider cocktail, and keep in the fridge until you’re ready to serve your guests.
It’s a wonderful addition to any gatherings that you may have coming up, and your guests will love it. I’m planning on making a batch for Thanksgiving this year, but for Christmas it’s my Cranberry Old Fashioned Cocktail all the way.
