DIY Easter Bunny Eggs
Easter is coming up fast, so without delay I’m making bunny eggs for the grand littles. Each speckled egg is decorated with rick-rack, pom-pom tails, bows, pipe cleaner ears and feet. How easy is that?! You can fill them with treats for Easter baskets or use them as table decorations.
Supplies And Shopping links
- plastic eggs
- rick-rack
- pom-poms
- craft scissors
- pipe cleaners
- ribbon
- hot glue gun and glue sticks
Instructions
The first step is to make the bunny ears and feet with pipe cleaners. Fold your pipe cleaner in half then make a loop on each side. Bring the ends together and twist. Cut off the extra pipe cleaner with craft scissors. You may notice I’m making the feet slightly larger than the ears. Hot glue the ears to the top of egg and the feet to the bottom.
Next add the pompom bunny tail with hot glue and the rick-rack around the middle of the egg. I attached the rick-rack just above where the top and bottom of the egg comes apart.
The last step is optional, but I think the gingham bows are pretty cute. Make larger bows for the girl bunnies and bowties for the boy bunnies.
You can make these Easter bunny eggs in any color you wish, with coordinating pipe cleaners and ribbons. I have to say when I spotted the speckled eggs I just couldn’t resist. They remind me of spongeware pottery, and I love the fun colors.
