Spring Tulip Wreath Centerpiece. Today I’m sharing not only how to make a spring tulip wreath, but also how to turn it into a centerpiece. This is a simple wreath that comes together quickly, and such an easy way to add spring color to your table setting.
I’m not sure about your neck of the woods, but where I live, spring is in the air. Trees and plants are budding early this year, so I’m getting into the spring mode early too.

February Pinterest Challenge
It’s time for our February Pinterest challenge. I’m so happy you’re here for this month’s spring wreath inspiration and believe me we have so many gorgeous wreaths for you to make!
If this is your first time to join us for a Pinterest challenge, this is how it works. Our host Cindy over at County Road 407, selects a photo for us to recreate, and each participant puts their own spin on the photo.
The best part is seeing how everyone interprets the image, and we always have an interesting variety. Be sure to click through all the links at the end of my post.

If you’re popping over from DIY Beautify, welcome to Thistle Key Lane. I’m so happy you’re here! Don’t you love Cindy’s tulip wreath? She is one of my favorite crafters, and is always creating something amazing!
Our photo inspiration this month is from Kristi of Chatfield Court. I can’t help but smile, when I look at this beautiful pink tulip wreath. Be sure to visit Chatfield Court for Kristi’s complete tutorial.
Spring Tulip Wreath
The wreath I’m making is on a smaller scale than Kristi’s, so that I can use it to create a spring centerpiece for our kitchen table.
Here’s a list of supplies for the spring tulip wreath.
- grapevine wreath 12″
- real touch white tulips
- variety of flower picks in pink and white
- preserved moss or green Spanish moss
- wire cutters
Tulips are my main focus for this wreath, so I’m starting with those, working the stems into the grapevine wreath. The tulip stems are pretty long, so you may need to shorten them using your wire cutters. You can group the tulips together or space them however you wish around your grapevine wreath.
By the way, these are real touch tulips that have a little bit smaller bloom than some of the silk type tulips. You can find them here.
Next add small flower picks between your tulips. I found some flower picks at JoAnn’s, that I thought would compliment the tulips. Then I deconstructed the picks, using only the stems with the colors and sizes that looked the best with the white tulips.
The last step is to add a little preserved moss or green Spanish moss in some of the spaces between the flowers.
Noice that I’m not using any glue or floral wire. I don’t need any, because my wreath is just going to be the base for my centerpiece. If you wish to display your wreath on a door or wall, you may want to secure the stems with floral wire or hot glue.
How To Create A Spring Tulip Wreath Centerpiece
When creating a centerpiece with your wreath, there are lots of options. You can place your wreath directly on your table, on top of a tablecloth or table runner, on a round platter, in a shallow basket, or on a tray.
The tray I’m using, is the bottom half of a two tiered tray. It has a hole in the center, however the hole is not noticeable once I finish filling the center.
Next comes the fun part of adding something in the center of your wreath. The largest piece is a woven grass bunny. For height I’m adding pussy willow stems in an ironstone bottle. The last addition a small bunch of clay carrots sitting on a flower pot with moss filler.
