Dried Floral Cloche Arrangement. Today I’m sharing how to create a small dried floral arrangement under a glass cloche. I love little arrangements like these, because I can tailor make them to blend in with my favorite seasonal decor.
Dried Floral Cloche Arrangement
Since we are starting the process of transitioning from summer to fall decor, I’m working on easy projects that I can enjoy right now. You know how much I love flowers of all types, and I think dried florals are so lovely to display in the fall. You can stick with traditional colors or try something different.
The dried florals I’m using are a combination dark rust, brown, tan, wheat and gold. I figure these shades will go will just about any of my fall decorations.
Have you ever used a glass cloche? I have always admired them. Plus there’s just something about displaying an object under a cloche that gives it an air of noteworthiness. Think of it as little still life, that you want to preserve for anyone who wants to take the time to admire it.
Supplies
- glass cloche
- dried floral stems
- spike flower frogs
- floral tape
- scissors
For this project, I have an oval cloche that is about 7″ wide, 8″ tall and 4″ deep. I’m using three flower frogs to create my floral display.
Creating these little arrangements or specimen displays do not require very many stems. In fact the fewer you have the better they will stand out.
Be sure to measure your dried floral stems to make sure they have room to fit under your cloche. Use scissors or simply break the steams into the lengths you need.
The spikes in the floral frogs are too far apart to keep delicate stems upright. Therefore, I’m using floral tape to group, and hold the stems together. Then you can add your floral bundles to the center of the flower frog.
If you want to cover up the floral tape use few leafy floral pieces at the base. You can also use a little bit of preserved moss.
If you are wondering what to use if you don’t have spike flower frogs. I suggest using a small piece of floral foam with preserved moss for camouflage.
Decorating With A Cloche Arrangement
For now, I’m have my dried floral cloche arrangement on our mantel in the family room. I’m elevating it with some books, but I think it will also look pretty on our entry table. I’m still in that moving things around every other day stage of fall decorating. 😉
One of my favorite fall cloche arrangements features a vase and dried sunflowers, which you can see in this post here. To view my fall cloche with raffia pumpkins click here to go to the post.
Do you like to forage for things to decorate with in the fall? If so think about displaying beautiful fall leaves, acorns and pine cones in a cloche. That’s what I call no cost decorating.
