I’m thinking this is a good time to share my late summer entry table styling, as I’m in the process of planning our transitional fall decor. When August rolls around I start getting anxious for cooler weather, but this year I’m trying really hard not to rush it. We’ll see how well that works out.
When I start thinking about transitional fall decorating I like to bring in wood tones, neutral tans, and yellows. These are the colors I will be noticing more as summer gives into fall.
Late Summer Entry Table Styling
A few months ago I updated the artwork over the entry table, and we’re still enjoying the new change. The framed butterflies and moths are my spin on what it might be like to have a specimen collection.
Luckily the colors of the butterflies and moths fit into my late summer to fall decorating scheme, so I don’t have to change it out for a while.
I’m also enjoying the light contrast, that the wide white mats provide against the dark navy wall. For more photos see my post Summer Entry Table With New Artwork.
Late Summer Flowers
This yellow and white mixed bouquet is from the grocery store. I wish I could say I have fresh flowers here all the time, but truth be told I really don’t.
The zinnias in the arrangement are from our garden, which are really thriving in this extended summer heatwave.
I would add more, but a pesky neighborhood armadillo plowed right through my biggest yellow zinnia. If anyone knows how to keep armadillos out of your yard let me know. It seems like we have tried everything.
Style With Interesting Shapes and Textures
No matter what season we are celebrating, I love decorating with interesting shapes and textures. For something tall and dramatic I’m using bamboo stems in a cute wicker vase.
I just love this vase, and I can’t believe how many ways I continue to find to decorate with it. The cane wrapped vase is another one of my favorites, because it’s just the right size for small arrangements.
On the other end of the entry table, a blue and white lamp ties everything together. One thing I’ve learned is that blue and white works for every season. Don’t you think so?
Another addition to the entry table is a wood textile stamp. Talk about interesting shapes and textures. I found the stamp several years ago at an antique mall. I’m not sure if it is the real thing or not, but it’s a fun piece to have on display.
A shallow bowl holds brown and white shells that remind me of a Florida vacation. We’re not into fall yet, but these colors will fit right in as we get closer to seasonal transitioning.

Thanks for stopping by for my late summer entry table styling. It’s back to school time around here, which is so hard to believe. I still miss that little urge to buy school supplies LOL!
Cheers!
