I’m so happy be sharing our cheery Christmas entry table with mercury glass with you. I can’t think of a better way to welcome guests entering through our front door, than with a little holiday magic.
Christmas Entry Table With Mercury Glass
Of course there are lots of places where I love to decorate as different seasons roll around, but the entry table is where I usually start.
This time of year my head is spinning with blog post ideas, but it’s not easy getting everything ready to publish in a timely manner.
I finally had a chance to take photos over the weekend, so I’m sneaking in this post before the next blog hop. Oh the life of a blogger haha!
One of the reasons why I love decorating this entry area, is the navy accent wall running through the center of our home. We painted it about six years ago, and I’m still loving the interesting backdrop it provides. In case you’re wondering the color is Navel by Sherwin Williams.
Can you think of anything more classic than navy blue and white or silver? There’s no doubt it’s a winning combination here in the entryway.
Mercury Glass And Greenery
If you’ve been following me for a while you know how much I love using our mercury glass trees on the mantel. Well I can’t always be so predictable, so this year they are making an appearance on the entry table instead.
These large mercury glass trees can make a statement all on their own, but I love how they look when surrounded with greenery.
The Norfolk pine greenery I’m using is so pretty, that I sometimes forget that it’s not the real deal. It’s same type of faux greenery that’s currently on the mantel, and I couldn’t be happier with how realistic it looks.
To create this table top arrangement I’m using one garland along the back of the entry table and another one along the front. That way, I can nestle three of trees in the middle and the other two trees closer to the front edge.
One thing that really helps when decorating with all types of faux greenery is the addition of pinecones. I use a lot of pinecones in my holiday decorating in a variety of sizes to add interesting texture. Pinecones also provide a touch of nature and warmth to our decor.
A small change to the look of the mercury glass trees this year, is a bit of velvet ribbon around the bases. It’s a small detail, but a pretty addition that I think is worth mentioning.
Now for the fairy lights. If we have mercury glass then we gotta have fairy lights too. It’s the sparkle and shine that creates a bit of magic this tine of year, and I love it!
Winter Artwork
Just for fun I’m going to point out the winter artwork over the entry table. These are my quirky pine tree watercolors with forest animals.
As you can guess, I read a lot of children’s books to the grands. I think the illustrations from those books are rubbing off on me.
It’s interesting to see what kind of art the grand littles like or even notice for that matter. Right now the rabbit and the raccoon are competing for the most votes!
I’m thinking, I’ll probably keep them up through January, and then add something else when I have time to paint again.
