Winter Entry Table And A Pinecone Swag

More cozy decorating continues in our entryway with a winter entry table and a pinecone swag. I’m trying out fresh ideas to decorate our home using items that I already have on hand, such as these fabulous pinecones.

Winter Entry Table And A Pinecone Swag

Last year I arranged the pinecones on an oversize tray on the coffee table, but this year I wanted to hang them.

My first thought was to make a swag for the front door, however these windy cold fronts put an end to that. To avoid getting the front door scratched up, I’m keeping the pinecone swag indoors.

I found these extra large sugar pinecones last year at a local market and fell in love with them. Their honey color is just gorgeous, don’t you agree?

I admit the swag would have a bigger impact hanging over a mirror, but it looks kind of interesting over the map.

Pinecone Swag

Making a pinecone swag is simple following these easy steps.

  1. Attach a ribbon to the top of each pinecone with a hot glue gun.
  2. Cut each ribbon a different length so the pinecones will hang at various levels.
  3. Add additional ribbon for interest and tie ribbons together in a knot.

Winter Entry Table Decor

I’m borrowing one of the little faux cypress trees from the living room to display in an oversized lantern. Fairy lights keep it from looking so dark inside and adds a fun touch to the entry table.

You may remember this tree from my post White Bottle Brush Tree Vignette. The fabric covering the ugly base is actually a linen napkin. Just something to think about if you’re wanting to coordinate a tablescape using mini trees.

On the other side of the entry table is a vintage silver pitcher holding some much needed greenery. I’m not sure what kind of leaves these are but I think they are pretty just by themselves. I’m really wanting to cut some limbs from our magnolia tree, but the lower limbs are looking a bit skimpy. Pretty sure the Mister wouldn’t like that! LOL

The silver pitcher, a glass lamp and the stack of books makes a cozy grouping on the winter entry table.

Thank you for stopping by today. We have more cold weather moving in so I plan on spending time in the kitchen this weekend. If I come up with something to share, you’ll be the first to know. Stay warm.

Cheers!
