This DIY book page ghost garland only takes a few minutes to make, which is good because sometimes that’s all we have. This year I decided I just couldn’t let Halloween pass by without a little ghostly fun.

DIY Book Page Ghost Garland Supplies
- book pages or scrapbook paper
- pencil
- craft scissors
- hole punch
- cotton string
- mini clothespins 1-3/8″
Ghosts come in all shapes and sizes, so you can make up your own or copy mine. These are about 1-1/2 wide by 3-1/2 inches tall. Once you have your shape just trace and cut out. No special equipment required, and seriously it only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to cut out a stack of ghosts.
This would be a great activity for kids, who will be so excited to be part of a decorating team.
I had lots of fun with the hole punch. See how the position of the eyes give the appearance of looking in different directions? It gives each one a wee bit of personality, don’t you think?

Create A Garland

Last year I dismantled an old damaged book for a couple of projects and still have a few hundred loose pages left for projects. Of course these ghosts are just as cute on white paper or let your imagination go wild using scrapbook paper.
Chalkboards make the perfect spot for seasonal decorating. Mine is adorned with a moss covered letter, which adds a backdrop of interesting texture for garlands.

This is my first time making paper medallions, which are more time consuming than the ghosts. They do add fall color though, and even more festive with autumn leaves in the center.
Garlands can go just about anywhere and I love seeing them displayed on a chest of drawers or on the front of an entry table.
