If you’re as ready for spring as I am, then you’re going to love this simple spring burlap and carrot wreath. I’ve been a little slow at decorating for spring this year, because we’ve had so much going on. Hopefully I can jump into a few more projects this week to share with you. I find just adding a few spring touches really makes our house feel so cheerful and I’m ready for more.

Speaking of cheerful, that’s exactly how I feel when I see holiday and seasonal garlands, like this mini carrot garland. Just so you know the carrot garland was supposed to be for the mantel but somewhere along the way I had the idea of a mini one on a wreath. Go figure!
Creating this spring burlap and carrot wreath involves a few more steps than my usual projects, but it still comes together pretty fast. First here’s a list of supplies you will need.
Spring Burlap And Carrot Wreath Supplies
- wire wreath frame 12″
- burlap ribbon
- florist wire
- wire cutter
- carrot cutouts
- craft paint
- paint brush
- 3/8″ sheer ribbon
- flower pick
Getting Started
These carrot cutouts are just so cute I decided to highlight their shape by painting them a solid neutral color. If I were to make this wreath again I might think about painting each carrot a different pastel color. Just a thought if you’re not into orange.
Before covering the wire wreath frame with the burlap ribbon, decide how much you want to save for a bow.
To cover the wire wreath frame, start by gathering the end of the burlap ribbon and secure it to the frame with a piece of floral wire.
Wrap the burlap ribbon around the wreath frame by folding and twisting the ribbon as you go. Secure the end with another piece of floral wire and tuck into place.
Next add some green sheer ribbon around the burlap wreath in a random pattern. Try going straight in some areas and crisscrossing in others to make it look more interesting.
Add a bow to the bottom of the wreath with a piece of floral wire.
String the carrot cutouts on the same sheer ribbon and tie to the wreath at an angle.
The little folds in the burlap are perfect for tucking in little flowers, which I cut from a floral pick using wire cutters. The flowers are made of paper which have a delicate vintage look I really love. (I don’t have a link to share for these, but I’ll be glad to tell you where I found them if you want to know.)
To make a hanger for the wreath, add floral wire or a loop of ribbon at the top.
Where To Display Your Wreath
I suggest enjoying your spring wreath indoors, unless your front door and porch have adequate protection from the elements. We have a hook on the inside of our front door and I often display wreaths there on bad weather days.
My spring wreath is hanging on the chalk board next to our kitchen, which is an ideal spot for seasonal decor. Since this is a pass through area, it will get a lot of views. 😉

Before I go, I should add that I love decorating with green, and that’s why I picked the green burlap. If green is not your thing, then I suggest creating this wreath with a natural colored burlap instead. In fact there are lots of ways to make this fit into your decor by changing the color of the ribbon, the carrot garland and the flowers too.
