Today I’m sharing how to make mini holiday evergreen arrangements that you can whip up in no time. All it takes are a few pieces of left over holiday greenery, pine cones or clippings from your backyard. Make one or two for yourself or give to friends and co-workers.

Last weekend I decided to make mini arrangements for a party that my daughter and her husband were hosting. They were working so hard getting their home ready, and I just wanted to create something special for decoration.
Mini Holiday Evergreen Arrangements
I bought a bundle of evergreens and one of those holiday bouquets at the grocery store. Sometimes buying a bouquet is cheaper, because you get a little of everything in them including berries, flowers and a variety of green stems. However instead of making one large arrangement, I’m separating out the stems for little bouquets.
Most of the photos were taken as the sun was coming up the other morning, so the photography is not my best. I think though, you can get an idea of how these little cuties come together. I practiced on a couple of small arrangements for myself, then four more for my daughter.
Supplies
The first step is gathering supplies.
- small vase or container
- evergreen bundle (pine,
- berries or flowers (optional)
- pine cones
- clippers
- wire cutters
- floral wire or florist picks with wire
- oasis floral foam brick (optional)
- small kitchen knife (optional)
- clear florist tape (optional)
- scissors
How To Make Mini Evergreen Bouquets
- The containers I’m using for these arrangements all have a wide open opening so I’m opting to use wet floral foam. This just makes it easier to arrange the stems and for transporting the mini bouquets. If you are using vases with a smaller opening then you can skip the floral foam.
- Follow the manufactures directions for soaking the foam bricks. (Since I’m working at the kitchen table I have the wet brick on a foil covered pan, so I have a place to cut it with minimal mess.)
- Wet foam bricks are very easy to cut with a regular kitchen knife. Insert the wet foam into the container and secure with clear florist tape across the top.
- When using small planters with an opening in the bottom, be sure to line the container before inserting the wet floral foam. A regular plastic sandwich bag works great or line with foil.
- When making little arrangements, I start with short pieces of pine around the base, then work my way to the center filling in as needed. I like to add a few taller stems in the center, maybe two little groupings of berries and a pine cone or two.
- In order to keep a pine cone in place I use a floral pick with wire, and wrap the wire around the base of the pine cone. Then insert the pick into the arrangement. When not using foam use a small piece of floral wire and secure a pine cone to one of the stems going to the vase.
How To Decorate with Mini Holiday Evergreen Arrangements
Mini bouquets are easy to squeeze in where you want a bit more color and interest. I’m loving how the blue and white planter looks on the secretary desk and pepper berries are always so pretty this time of year. Here’s another view of the same arrangement with magnolia and holly clippings at the coffee station.
The other evergreen arrangement in a mini McCoy planter is my favorite though. Mixing in holly clippings from our back yard with the pine, cypress and boxwood makes this one extra special. All the different shades and green and textures is simply beautiful.
By the way, do you like the McCoy arrangement on the side table or on the entry table better? I can’t decide.

One more thing to consider, is to give one as a special hostess gift. Be sure to check out thrift stores or antique malls for a one-of-kind container to use.
