It’s so exciting to be back in the “There’s No Place Like Home” Autumn Blog Hop. A big thank you goes to our host Rachelle of My Hubbard Home for organizing. This week we have lots of wreath and fall door decor ideas to share with you.

If you are visiting from My Humble Home And Garden welcome once again and please make yourself at home.

Door Basket Arrangement

Ideas for my small porch start with the front door, but instead of a wreath I’m using a willow door basket brimming with fall colors.

Taking full advantage of the door space, I’m going for a large colorful display. Preserved fall leaves in greens, yellows and reds make a big statement in a rustic door basket.

This is one of the easiest ways to decorate a door I can imagine, other than buying a ready made wreath. To see last years post click on, Willow Basket Door Arrangement For Early Fall.

Behind the preserved leaves, I’m using some artificial greenery for filler, and I have some curly willow branches for height.

Did you notice the ribbon? It’s actually leftover jute webbing from a previous project, and it’s my favorite addition to the basket.

Fall Decorating Ideas With Flowers And Pumpkins

I never know what kind of pumpkins I will end up with until I go shopping for them. This year’s pumpkin picks are a little of everything including some squash like gourds. It looks like two different colored pumpkins are squashed together.

Of course I can’t pass up mums this time of year. It’s so hard to decide on colors but white and yellow mums always show up best with our dark red brick and gray door.

To create the illusion of depth start by varying the height of flowers and pumpkins with the tallest in the back. The white mum in the back is the same size as the yellow mum. It just looks bigger because it is in a larger bucket sitting on top of a brick inside.

I just love how these pumpkins look mingling with the dark green ivy. To save space, try stacking pumpkins in groups of twos or threes or use a step stool as a riser.
