Peach Sorbet Recipe

Fresh peaches from the market.

The best peach sorbet recipe is sweet, creamy, and oh so deliciously cold! It’s my best defense today against this summer heat. Plus it’s quick and easy to make, right in your freezer without an ice cream maker.

Peach Sorbet Recipe

  1. Pick soft ripe peaches, peel and cut into small pieces. Layer peaches on a parchment lined baking sheet and place in the freezer until firm.
  2. Place frozen peach pieces in a blender or food processor, add sugar, water and juice. Process until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour peach mixture into a 1 lb. loaf pan and freeze.
  4. When ready to serve, remove from freezer and let stand for a few minutes to soften. An ice cream scoop makes serving a breeze.

These peaches are fresh from the market and smell so wonderful, it no wonder they’re one of my favorite summer time fruits.

Peach Trivia

Here’s a bit of trivia, of knowing the difference between Clingstone and Freestone varieties. Clingstone – the fruit of the peach will cling to the pit. Freestone – the fruit of the peach easily separates from the pit. If anyone ever asks, you will know the difference.

So next time you’re at your local farmers market you can ask what kind of varieties they have. Freestone varieties can save you a lot of time, when slicing up peaches in large quantities.

How many ways can you eat peaches? For me, I love peach ice cream, peach cobbler, peach margaritas and grilled peaches on a fresh green salad.
