Today I’m sharing how to use wall hooks for hanging artwork. This is a quick and easy solution for displaying artwork, and I’m guessing you will be coming up with your own list of how you can use wall hooks too.

How To Use Wall Hooks For Hanging Artwork

I was going to use some individual wooden peg wall hooks in my laundry room update last year. Then I decided on a short peg board instead.

Now I have a new idea of how to use these wall hooks. As it turns out, it’s a much better way to hang my floating glass frames than hanging them on a simple nail.

Last year we updated our master bathroom, and I have one wall that is still needing some attention. I recently found some antique engravings of thistles, and now I’m ready to update my floating glass frames with something extra special.

The little thistle engravings are so delicate, I’m almost afraid to handle them. Normally, when I frame something in the floating glass frames I just use double sided tape to hold the art in place.

Well, I certainly don’t want to use tape on the fragile paper engravings. Instead I’m using a thick piece of acid free paper behind each one, which works as a much better solution.

The engraving is sandwiched between the paper and the glass. It’s a tight enough fit, that it will not slip or move out of place.

To give the paper a little more interest, I first tore it in half to create a raw edge. Then I trimmed both pieces of paper to frame each engraving allowing a little to show underneath.

Wall Hooks As Art Hangers

The wall hooks come with anchors and screws and are very easy to install. Just follow the manufactures instructions. Of course a simple nail will work to hang the floating glass frames, but the wood pegs add a little more dimension and sophistication.

The natural wood finish on the wall hooks is a great neutral color, but I decided to paint them. White just works better in this predominately gray and white bathroom.

Hanging the artwork at different heights also adds a bit more interest, and it also allows room to add a third pice of artwork.
