Heron Watercolors And A Look At My Studio
My inspiration for this pair started after spotting a heron, fishing in a pond close to my daughters home. Watching ducks is always fun, but a visiting heron…now that’s pretty exciting.

Eventually, I’ll find a better place to hang the herons, because I want them to face each other side by side. For now they are staying here, inspiring me to study more. Next on my list to paint is a green heron, which is another interesting visitor to the pond.
A Look At My Studio
My Studio is finally back to normal with my cozy and comfortable slipcovered pieces. For about a year, we had playpens and baby equipment coming and going. Then the space was used as storage while our daughter and her family were relocating.
The good news is that our daughter and family are settled only 10 minutes away, and my studio space is temporally clean again. Normally my projects litter the space, where there’s hardly a horizontal surface not covered. Luckily I do have a good organizing system, which keeps the chaos under control.

My favorite feature in the studio is the gallery wall. I still plan on hanging artwork below the shelf, but that has been postponed due to curious little hands. Some of the artwork on the wall is mine and some are pieces from vacations.
When I travel I look for small pieces of art that are easy to pack. It’s a fun way to look back on trips, and these are the kinds of souvenirs that I’ll have for a long time.
It’s hard to admit, but the older I get the more I really appreciate all this natural light. I can move my little table around and use this space for painting or taking photos of projects.
