Decorating The Foyer For Christmas

Fresh Paint and Christmas Greetings

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I took a few weeks off from blogging to enjoy Thanksgiving with family and to get the house organized. Things tend to get a wee bit chaotic when working full-time and trying to blog. I did manage to steal a few hours to watch Fixer Upper, paint the foyer and get a jump-start on Christmas decorating.

Can you believe what a difference a new color can make?! Meet Gale Force, by Sherwin Williams. This deep blue hue is as powerful as its name denotes. It’s also beautifully rich, masculine and creates a gorgeous background in the foyer. In fact, we love the color so much I plan on continuing the paint around the corner to the bar area. More on that to come.

The wood tones of the furniture and floor have come alive with the new paint on the walls.

Taking center stage on the table are beautiful mercury glass trees from Pottery Barn. They’re  the first thing I pull out when decorating for Christmas and the last thing I put away in January. I’ve had the trees for years and still love their simple elegance.

In the silver bowl, a deer antler and acorns cradle a collection of vintage books that once belonged to my dad’s Great Aunt Pearl. She was a lively character, red being her favorite color, so the red book is displayed on the top of the stack.

With the foyer finished, I can’t wait to jump on the rest of the Christmas decorating.  I plan on wrapping up the decorating Sunday.  Enjoy your weekend!

Cheers!
