Watercolor Labels For Jars

Watercolor Labels For Jars

Three of my favorite activities are organizing, painting and drinking tea, but not necessarily in that order.  Today’s project combines all three.  When I’m home I drink copious amounts of tea and have expanded my tea selections beyond the usual Earl Grey and Green tea. I needed a better storage solution for tea bags in the pantry so that I could keep the tea fresh and stay organized.  I decided to store the tea bags in clear jars which opened up an opportunity to create some cute labels.

I started with watercolors, paper and a wide brush. The fun part was making the swishy blobs of color.

Once the watercolor was dry, I cut out each color in the shape of a tea bag.

To finish the labels, I wrote the name of each type of tea in chalk ink marker and tied a cotton string at the top to complete the tea bag look.

The labels are large enough to hide the contents while giving the jars a neat and uniformed look.

My photography doesn’t quite capture the label details, but I think you get the idea.

My next project will be reorganizing the pantry.  I’ve already picked the perfect shelf for the tea jars and now I’m anxious to get started.

Have a safe and Happy New Year!

Cheers!
