When it comes to Valentine’s Day, I don’t have any decorations per se, but I do have items that can be grouped or arranged together for a romantic vintage vignette.
Elements Of A Valentine Vintage Vignette
- Vintage silver
- Crystal

- Love letters or cards
- Books
My Valentine vignette is arranged on the coffee table ottoman with little things that have a special sentiment or happy memories.
Sentimental Accents And Books
I love using my favorite decorating books as platforms for displaying sentimental accents such as the silver rimmed dish holding sea shells from a fun vacation with the husband. And nestled next to the shells is a stack of letters my grandfather wrote to his mother while he was in collage.
This is only a sampling of the letters he wrote. Each stack that I have is tied with simple cotton string. The envelopes are starting to showing their age but it’s no wonder since they almost one hundred years old. The sideways two-cent stamp was post marked 1924.
My grandfather wrote several times a week with updates on his classes and friends but can you guess what the number one topic was? Weather! The letters are also fun to read since he had the most beautiful penmanship. My great-grandmother must have really treasured his letters.
Get the look by gathering your favorite Valentine cards, and tie them up with a pretty ribbon to put on display.
Vintage Silver
No Valentine vignette would be complete without something heart-shaped. One of my favorite pieces is the ornate heart-shaped silver bowl that belonged to my mom. I could always count on it being on the coffee table for special occasions. As you can guess, I also inherited her love of peanuts and wine.
Vintage Crystal
I can’t think of a better way to enjoy a fruity rosé than drinking out of a vintage crystal wine glass, after all nothing says romance like flowers and wine.
Flowers And Candles
Whenever possible I love using flowers and candles to create a romantic vignette. You may have noticed I don’t use much red if any in my decor, but I do crave a hint of pink in the flower arrangements.
More vintage finds are displayed on the end table including an old pressed glass candy jar and a Merry Wives Of Windsor book. Talk about a great conversation starter.
