Update Furniture With New Hardware

Fresh hydrangea my favorite flower.

If you want to update a piece of furniture without refinishing or repainting, then look at this quick solution. See how I gave the entryway table a fresh new look by replacing the drawer pulls. It only takes a few minutes to update furniture with new hardware.

Hardware, just like jewelry can make an outfit. It’s an old analogy but still holds true. Dress up a piece of furniture or give it a completely new personality by changing out pulls or knobs.

Update Hardware

The bronze drawer pulls have now been replaced with pewter loop pulls. They have a smaller profile, and a rustic feel that I like better for the entryway table. I’m going for a more casual look which I think these work great as a simple update.

You don’t have to spend very much on hardware. The new pulls were less expensive than the ones I replaced, and it only took a few minutes to remove the old ones to install the new.

Did you notice that I have also updated the entryway with a fun piece of artwork? The vintage looking school bird chart adds to the casual feel of the entry. I was looking for a scientific or botanical chart when I stumbled over the birds and had to have it. I have a link source at the end of the post for it and other charts.

If the hardware you’re replacing is still in good shape you might consider using it on another piece of furniture or on cabinets in another room. Hardware can also be spray painted if the color isn’t right for the project you have in mind.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you will use these ideas to update your furniture or entryway in you home.

Cheers!
