Spring To Summer Family Room Styling

Spring To Summer Family Room Styling – I can’t believe it’s already time to think about spring to summer transitioning. Every season holds new adventures in decorating, but spring and summer is always the easiest for me when it comes to styling.

You can say I’m giving the house a break from holiday decor and now we are down to the basics. This is what I call my everyday look which is clutter free and easy going. It’s also easier to clean around I might add.

Spring To Summer Family Room Styling

One area of the family room I don’t share very often is the media cabinet. It’s a beautiful piece of furniture, but the humongous flat screen looming over it…not so much.

Of course I have to remember that I’m not the only one living here, and yes I watch it too. It’s always so entertaining listening to the Mister watching his golf tournaments saying, “look I can see every blade of grass”. (rolling eyes emoji)

Anyway, I’m including a few glimpses of it, because I recently added baskets with lids on each side. The light colored baskets not only brighten the dark shelvesI, but also provide hidden storage.

Larger pieces such as my mom’s antique tea box and brass nesting trays help to change up the look. Think of the money I save shopping my home!

Bring The Outdoors In

A collection of bottles on the mantel is now displaying Japanese maple branches instead of flowers. To see before photos click on Spring Mantel with Flowers and Bottle Vases.

Last weekend the Mister trimmed up our Japanese maple, and I swooped in to gather the branches. Crazy blogger lady here I know, but they look so pretty on display.

Every year our maple tree goes through a beautiful transformation. The new leaves start out bright red, then turn dark purple before changing to green. It’s quite a show stopper.

Larger branches are in a vase on the kitchen table, and why not? I mean, who can resist decorating with free greenery?!

Decorating With Plants

Simple styling on the coffee table includes a large round metal tray. Nothing fancy here just my favorite hurricane candle holder, a bird’s-nest fern and a little decorative bowl.

I love collecting keys and look for them every time I go antiquing or while traveling. Small things like these are easy to pack and bring home.

My largest plants are next to the media cabinet and they’re loving the bright sunlight in this room. The newest member is a Philodendron, happily hanging out with a fiddle leaf fig.

The bar cart that was in this space is now working as an end table in the living room. To see its current home click on Decorating With Hints of Blue.
