Spring Decorating

This is how you decorate for spring.

For me spring decorating is swapping out a few accessories, maybe artwork or throw pillows, but decorating with flowers says spring better than anything else I can think of. Do you look for excuses to buy flowers? Me too! What a difference a small bouquet can make in a room.

Swap Out Accessories

Swapping out accessories is all about shopping in my house. I know you hear that all the time, but it’s a great way to save money on seasonal transitions such as the large floral painting in the entry. Originally it was in the master bedroom, but I’m loving how it looks in here.

Move Artwork

I’m amazed how different artwork looks when displayed in different spaces. With lighting and background changes artwork can take on a whole new personality. The navy wall does wonders for the painting by bring out all the dark hues.

The entry way may not be it’s perminate home but it’s a fun change, casually sitting on the table leaning against the wall.

This is Angus on guard duty. Usually he’s running through whatever room I’m trying to photograph.

Add Flowers

When I think about flower arranging, it can be a hit or miss with me. I’ve decided to keep arrangements simple and that seems to work best.

Flowers not only add interest, but also bring a happy spring vibe into a space. Add a pop of color and see what happens. That’s one of the suggestions I made in the post, four easy ways to keep neutral decor interesting.

Spring Decorating With Vintage Pieces

I love mixing in vintage pieces that have a history.  The sliver heart-shaped dish, the pressed glass candy jar holding flowers and the Limoges eggs, once belonged to loved ones that were very dear to me.

You can do this too. Remember vintage pieces add character and don’t have to cost very much.

Cheers!
