Repurposing A Cup Rack For Pots And Pans

I’m so excited to find a new spot for my little copper collection by repurposing a cup rack for pots and pans. I know what you’re thinking, but surprisingly it works for pots too. You might say I have a history for repurposing things and I love experimenting with new ways to decorate.

If you’ve been following me for a while you may remember the cup rack in our entryway. It’s a perfect place for hanging the dog leach, jackets, scarves and bags. Now that the cup rack is in the kitchen we may eventually use it for what it’s designed for, but for now…pots.

In a recent post, Make Your Home Look New After Painting, I mentioned some important updates we made. In addition to those, we had a home speaker system removed throughout the house.

The speaker control panel on this wall was quite an eyesore, which I purposely left it out of photos. As you can imagine I’m practically ecstatic to have it out of here.

So what to do with a fresh new wall? I could add shelves, artwork or plates, but the shelves might interfere with the open door way. Adding furniture is also out because I love having open spaces.

Repurposing A Cup Rack For Pots And Pans

As it turns out, the rack is a good choice. It’s not only serves as storage for pots, but it’s something I can decorate too.

In addition to the herb bundles from my container garden, there’s space for a cutting board and a linen kitchen towel. It’s clean and simple looking, but I have room for more. Any suggestions as to what else I should add to the pot rack?

Next time I’m antiquing or thrift shopping, I’ll be hunting for small copper dessert molds to continue the copper theme. Dessert molds are especially decorative for the holidays.

The tiny copper pot with the stamp made in France is my favorite, so I would love to find a few more. I’m also thinking about vintage utensils and open to suggestions there too.

Special note: I have heavy duty wall anchors and screws to support the pot rack, which is important depending on what is to be displayed on the rack.

Thank you for letting me share my idea of repurposing a cup rack into a pot rack. Let me know what you think.

Cheers!
