Patio Season

Hibiscus bloom

On the spring and summer weekends we usually have an umbrella raising ceremony.  It is a signal that good times are about to start and relaxation can begin. Last weekend we spent time cleaning up the patio planting hibiscus and a few herbs.  The most impact comes from cleaning up leaves , weeds and trimming up ground cover from the surrounding areas. I want the area around the pool to be healthy, lush and at the same time have a manicured look.

We still have some time before everything is in full bloom.  We like flowering plants and bushes that will attract the hummingbirds as they migrate. Our favorites are the Mexican Petunia, Mexican Fire Bush and hibiscus.

We had a nice rain shower before I came out to take a few pictures.  Everything is now clean and fresh.

Relaxing with a glass of wine

Ready to relax for a minute and admire our hard work. Let the good times begin!
