Ideas For Liquor Cabinets

Secretary repurposed into a liquor cabinet.

Thinking of ideas for liquor cabinets? Well, I have a couple of solutions that might help with that, since I just solved that problem in our house. Sometimes is just a matter of shifting things around and I’m great at moving stuff from one place to another.

This cute curio cabinet became a liquor cabinet a few years ago after a fresh coat of paint. It has adjustable shelves and takes up minimal space in the kitchen. Now the curio cabinet is moving to another room so I can better utilize this area.

As usual I like to rearrange and change things while the husband is out of town. When he returned from a recent trip and spied the empty shelves, he was horror stuck. Not to worry, I didn’t let him suffer and showed him the new liquor cabinet.

Turns out the secretary is a convenient place for storage, and I really like the look of the bottles and glassware on the shelves.

We can even use this as an impromptu bar, but I think most of our bartending will remain in the kitchen.

For now I shifted the books to the top shelf but those may find a new home, we’ll see. You may recognize the secretary from a recent post, How To Update Furniture With Liming Wax. Be sure to click over to see the before photos.

Our first home had a built in bar, but in other homes we had to come up with different solutions. Here are a few ideas for liquor cabinets that work well for display or storage. Think of it as repurposing what you might already have.

Once you have a liquor cabinet you might need a list of what to keep on hand. Here are a few basic suggestions to get started. Of course there’s nothing wrong with stocking it with what you enjoy most.

A liquor cabinet is also a good spot for storing those bartending tools. I like this bartending set.
