Witch’s Hat Door Decoration

Witch's hat door decoration for Halloween.

For me, witches rule on Halloween. You know… “double, double, toil and trouble”. I found a witch hat cutout at a local craft store and had to have it. Paint, tape, ribbon, hanger, done! This witch’s hat door decoration is just that easy. It’s like magic!

Supplies:

The first step was painting the cutout black spray paint, however you could easily use black craft paint instead. Step two, I added decorative tape to create some dimension and sparkle. Some lines are crisscross and some are straight to accent the shape.

Step three, I added felt stick-ons to protect the door from getting scratched and a string with glue for the hanger.

Step four, I added four different patterned ribbons. This witch couldn’t decide on just one ribbon and had to use them all;  tan striped, red houndstooth check, light blue with polka-dots, and a cream ribbon that looks like a measuring tape. The ends of some of the ribbons were carefully cut so they would look frayed and to add interest.

The last step was displaying the witch hat on the front door. Easy as that, magic!

This was a very simple project that you can make in a very short amount of time. Have fun with it and let me know how yours turns out!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Now where did I put my cauldron?

Cheers!
