I’m so happy you’re stopping by today, so I can share with you how I’m styling a bar cart for early spring. Subtle seasonal changes are always fun and easy to make by just switching up a few things around the house. I’m mixing some everyday items with a few vintage pieces for a fresh new look.

Our photo inspiration this month comes from Leen, of Sand Dollar Lane with her Entry Table Decor For Spring. I adore her easy going style that is always so pretty and welcoming.

Instead of an entry table, I’m styling a bar cart, that way I have two levels to create spring vignettes. Here’s a list of what I’m concentrating on for a similar look and feel.

Styling A Bar Cart For Early Spring

My decorating surface areas on the bar cart are a bit limited, but I’m still including many of the same accessories as our inspiration photo. My goal is to use what I already have around the house with one exception. Can you guess what that exception might be? Yep, flowers!

Spring Vignette With Flowers

I’m always looking for an excuse to buy flowers, but it’s not that big of a spurge, since I pick them up at the grocery store. The grab and go type of bouquets are the best, and I love these petite pink flowers with an assortment of green stems.

For a vase, my old ironstone pitcher works fine, and I”m also displaying a little majolica creamer for some springtime color.

I have admired Leen’s large majolica pitcher for some time now, and of course it’s pretty with or without flowers. My vintage ironstone pitcher is a hand me down from my mom, and my very favorite ironstone piece.

To create a vignette and give extra height for the pitchers and flowers, I’m using a stack of books instead of a tray.

In the white bowl are green ball dianthus with stems cut very short. These are left over from the arrangement in my January post Winter Botanical Tablescape. It’s hard to believe they are still green and perky.

Did you notice the cute bunny on Leen’s entry table? It’s always fun to decorate with something unexpected, so I’m including a vintage pewter and brass duck box. I think he fits right in with my early spring look.

Picnic Basket Vignette With Eggs And Bottles

On the lower shelf I’m using an old picnic basket which fills up a lot of space. With a folded throw blanket on top, it makes me think of warm spring days and pimento cheese sandwiches. Not sure how that popped into my head LOL!

Some small ironstone platters hold an arrangement of painted wooden eggs. I never got around to decorating the eggs last year, so I’m adding that to my craft things to-do list for March.

My last addition to the bar cart is a collection of bottles, but only two are vintage. The larger bottle holds some ivy clippings that I’m going to plant in a couple of months.

The ivy clipping were also left over from the winter botanical tablescape centerpiece along with the green ball dianthus. I love reusing flowers and clippings when I can.
