Peach Ice Cream Recipe

Simple ingredients are what make this peach ice cream recipe so delicious. Of course having sweet and juicy peaches that are in season couldn’t be better.

About a month ago, I sliced up a half bushel of peaches and put them in the freezer, just so that we could make ice cream at a moments notice.

There was a time when I practically lived on ice cream. These days I enjoy ice cream as a special treat, which means if I’m going to indulge, it has to be really good.

The recipe below is for ice cream freezers such as the Cuisinart 1.5 Quart Frozen Ice Cream Maker or the  Breville Ice Cream Maker. For larger ice cream makers just double or triple the recipe.

Peach Ice Cream Recipe

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients string until sugar is dissolved, then add the peach puree.
  2. Following the manufactures instructions, turn on the ice cream maker and pour the cream mixture through the opening on top.
  3. Depending on the manufacturer, the ice cream will be ready in 20 to 40 minutes.

Special note: If you looking for a basic ice cream recipe, then omit the fruit and stick with the first five ingredients. So good and so simple!

For variations of this recipe, substitute your favorite fruit for the peaches. Several years ago I made the best cantaloupe ice cream you can imagine. We hope to get fresh cantaloupe next week and give that one a try again.

I have to admit that sometimes different fruits may need additional sugar depending on their tartness. My husband said he thought the peach ice cream might need a tablespoon more sugar, so be your own judge on that one.

What’s your favorite peach dessert? I must admit peach cobbler is probably mine, so I’m holding back some of those peaches in the freezer to use in the coming months.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Remember, there’s nothing wrong with eating dessert first!  😉

Cheers!
