Master Closet

Finally I’m getting around to straightening up the master closet.   I decided to do some purging as I switched out my winter for my summer wardrobe and use plastic hangers instead of wire hangers.

New hangers

My daughter has been encouraging me for a long time to get better hangers and she was right! Hanging clothes on plastic hangers is much better.  The clothes are better spaced and the shirts should hold their shape better.

Sweaters and shirts folded on shelf

I prefer organizing like things together. For example I have all the long sleeve shirts, collar shirts and quarter length shirts together in sections.  Most of the sweaters and short sleeve shirts I have folded in half and place on the middle shelf between the hanging clothes.  There is room to do so because I’m petite and my hanging clothes are not in the way. Finally a benefit of being short! Ha!

Shelf storage

The adjustable shelving was added when we moved in.  It’s an easy place to store shoes, work out gear and the off-season clothes. As soon as I pick up my wool sweaters from the cleaners,  I’ll store them away as well to be fresh and ready for fall.

Closet Before

Closet after

Keeping the closet orderly shouldn’t be a problem as long as I take a few seconds every day to keep it maintained.  Notice I didn’t blame anything on the husband. Surprisingly his side is in good shape.
