Today I’m sharing an Early Spring Entry Table with seasonal changes that are so simple to make. All it takes is a few pops of green to brighten up the space and we’re ready to welcome spring.

For this months Pinterest challenge we are focusing on a spring console or sofa table. If you’re new here…our host Cindy of County Road 407 selects an inspiration photo for us to recreate. Each participant puts their own spin on the photo according to our individual style of decorating.

Early Spring Entry Table
When creating my early spring entry table this is what I’m pulling from the inspiration photo.

- ironstone plates
- candle holder

- woven basket

- metal
I love doing Pinterest challenges, because they motivate me to try new ways to decorate or view what I have from a different perspective. My biggest take-a-way of this months PC is learning how to add layers to create an interesting table with neutral colors.
Decorate In Layers
Since I already have ironstone plates on the wall I’m only using one large ironstone piece on the table. The ironstone platter along with the two stacks of decorating books create a base layer to build on.
My plan was to create a flower arrangement similar to Amanda’s, but the snowstorm last week put a damper on that idea. Instead of flowers, I’m using a maiden hair fern with a few curly willow branches for height in the center of the platter.
What do you think about belly baskets? I love their fun shape and they’re so handy for all kinds of plants.
Neutral Colored Accessories
As with most of the Pinterest challenges my goal is to use what I already have on hand. The exception this time is the goddess head planter that I found while buying new house plants a few weeks ago.
The original faux green patina of the planter didn’t quite work for me, but it looks much better after a coat of white craft paint. I love the feminine touch it adds to the entry table and how it looks with the ironstone plates.
The rest of the accessories are neutral shades that add interesting shapes and textures.
A vintage silver rimmed glass bowl holding seashells sits on the other stack of decorating books along with a raffia wrapped candle holder. In the back is an antique metal lock box which adds one more layer of green.
My early spring entry table is a little more eclectic than our inspiration photo, but it works in this space and fits my style.
