Best Decorating, DIY Project And Recipe Posts Of The Year

Before I get to the best decorating, diy project and recipe posts of the year for Thistle Key Lane, let me just say, THANK YOU! I appreciate your comments and encouragement so much.  I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to blogging and still strive to get it right with every new post. Mostly, I’m just having fun sharing my ideas and projects with you and hope to hear more from you in 2019.

The “best of” list has been divided into categories, that way if you are new to my blog you’ll have a better sense of what Thistle Key Lane is all about. Don’t worry, I kept the list short. 😉

Best DIY Furniture Project

Hands down the best DIY furniture project was the DIY Kitchen Table Makeover. I have to admit, furniture projects can be a bit scary at first, but you never know how well something will turn out until you give it a go.

Best Room Makeover

The Guest Bathroom Mini Makeover Reveal and Fun Ways to Accessorize A Bathroom were two of your favorite posts. I guessing it had to do with the dramatic before and after photos.  In the coming months I’ll be tackling another bathroom makeover. I can’t wait to get started.

Best Slipcover Project

Ticking is the kind of fabric we never seem to get tired of. It’s been one of my favorites for years and was the perfect choice for the Headboard Slipcover in our bedroom.

Want to know a little secret? I almost didn’t publish the post, because I didn’t think the photography represented how well the slipcover looked in the room. Plus I wasn’t sure anyone would like it. Who knew?!

Best Recipe

The Mini Rum Cake Recipe is the perfect dessert for almost any kind of get together. It’s delicious any time of year and can be served in a variety of ways depending on the occasion. Who can resist one of these mini bundt cakes with rum sauce? Not me!

Best “How To” Post

Faux finishes are here to stay . Of course our first choice would be to have the real deal, but when those things are out of our price range, we have to get creative. The How To Create An Antique Zinc Finish post, revealed a simple process in transforming a galvanized bucket into a vintage beauty.

Best Styling Post

The How To Style An Ottoman post is full of ideas on how to make a coffee table or ottoman the centerpiece of a living area.

Best Organizing Project

Believe it or not How To Style A China Cabinet was another post I debated about publishing. I’m thrilled to know that viewers still have an appreciation for china cabinets and found the tips I shared useful.

Best Tablescape

I’m so happy the Gingerbread House Tablescape was one of your favorites too! It was a fun combination of all the little things that make me feel happy during the holidays while bring family together.

Best post of the Year

I love the fall season. Don’t you? By the end of summer we’re looking for that relief from the heat or can’t wait for the kids to go back to school, and then there are the countless activities that go along with the cooler weather. Maybe that’s why the Transitioning From Summer To Fall Tour was my best post of the year.

My heart is not only full with the joys of the holidays and family, but also the friends I have had the pleasure of getting to know through this little blog at Thistle Key Lane. Hope you have a happy and healthy 2019!

Cheers!
