BOURBON CHOCOLATE PECAN PIE RECIPE

An easy recipe similar to a traditional pecan pie with the addition of dark chocolate and a hint of bourbon.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 store bought pie crust
  • ½ cup dark brown sugar
  • ¾ cup light corn syrup
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • cups pecan halves

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • Prepare store bought pie crust in a 9" pie dish according to manufacturer's instructions. Place in the refrigerator while you're preparing the pie filling.
  • In a medium size bowl mix together dark brown sugar, light corn syrup, melted butter and salt. Add beaten eggs and combine well.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and bourbon followed by the dark chocolate chips and pecan halves.
  • Pour into the chilled pie crust making sure the chocolate chips and pecan halves are evenly distributed. Use a spoon to help arrange the pecans so that the top of the pie is covered.
  • Place on the center rack in a preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes. Remove from the oven and place on a cooling rack.
  • Pie needs to cool completely before trying to slice. Serve at room temperature. Cover and store in the refrigerator.
