Muddle blackberries in the simple syrup, then add bourbon and bitters. Give it a little stir, and add ice cubes. Garnish with extra blackberries.

Here's a recipe for infusing your simple syrup with blackberries.BLACKBERRY SIMPLE SYRUPStir together 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of blackberries in a a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, then simmer until all the sugar dissolves.Remove from heat and mash blackberries. When completely cool, pour through a sieve into a bowl. Then you can transfer into a jar or bottle with a lid and store in the fridge for a couple of weeks.If you prefer, make a small batch with 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup blackberries.
