BACON WRAPPED TATER TOTS

A delicious snack or appetizer with crispy bacon sweetened with brown sugar wrapped around a tater tot with just a hint of spicy heat.

Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices bacon
  • 24 frozen tater tots thawed
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar light or dark
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • wood toothpicks

Instructions
 

  • Remove tater tots from the freezer and place on a tray to thaw while you are getting organized.
  • Pre-heat oven to 400°F. Cover a full sheet pan with foil and place a cooking rack on top.
  • In a small bowl combine brown sugar and cayenne pepper. Set aside.
  • Cut bacon slices into thirds with a sharp knife.
  • Wrap each tater tot with a short piece of bacon and secure the bacon with a toothpick. Coat wrapped tater tots with brown sugar and place on the cooking rack.
  • Bake at 400°F for 20 to 25 minutes at or until crispy. Serve warm.

Notes

The cayenne pepper is completely optional for this recipe. If you are serving these bacon wrapped tater tots to a mixed crowd, you can always offer a spicy dip on the side.
