APPLE PECAN BREAD PUDDING RECIPE

Apple Pecan Bread Pudding is a crowd pleaser with a sweet buttery cinnamon toast flavor, balanced with fresh tart apples and pecans.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 large Granny Smith apples pleeled and cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • 1 cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup pecan pieces optional
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 4 cups bread cubes about 1 inch square
  • 1 cup apple cider

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl.
  • In a large bowl toss about half the sliced apples with about a third of the brown sugar mixture. Repeat with the remainder of the apples along with the pecan pieces.
  • In a separate bowl toss bread cubes with melted butter, then add the remaining brown sugar mixture and toss to coat.
  • Combine bread cubes and apples. Spoon into a lightly greased 11"x7" baking dish. Pour apple cider over the top of apple and bread mixture.
  • Bake for about 50 to 55 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  • Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
