Staying Organized With Baskets

Soft plaid throw pillow with a little twig pumpkin.

Today I’m sharing my plan on staying organized with baskets, starting right here in the entryway. This is a busy pass through area by the stairs, which means most of the time it’s a dumping ground. I decided to seize the opportunity before the crazy holidays hit, to declutter and create a space for storage.

The area under the entry table has just enough space to accommodate three baskets. It seemed liked a good place to add baskets and they will be out of way of any foot traffic.

An added bonus is the texture and warm color the baskets provide in the dark space. Think about where baskets can be used in your home. Placed them under a bench or on a low shelf for a similar look.

The idea of organizing is to provide a spot for things to be stored, instead of cluttering the floor or horizontal spaces. In the post Media Cabinet With Storage Potential, I used baskets to create storage for candles.

Most of the time the baskets will be used for shoes and throw blankets, but one will be reserved for all the migratory things that need to go back upstairs.

Baskets are also great for spur of the moment decluttering too. Stash away…

I could go on and on!

Thank you so much for stopping by! If you are looking for ways to organize a busy space in your home remember to start with baskets.

Cheers!
