Easy Kitchen Organizing Tips

Easy Kitchen Organizing Tips - knife block and display tray with orchid.

Today I’m sharing some quick and easy kitchen organizing tips that anyone can use. No matter what type of kitchen you may have, you want to make the most of all storage spaces. Sometimes all it takes is a few organizing solutions to put everything in order.

The kitchen I’m sharing is pretty, bright and highly functional. It belongs to my daughter and her family, who recently bought a new home just ten minutes away.

This is the most ideal photo shoot I can imagine, because everything is perfectly straight and sorted.  My daughter and son-in-law organized as they unpacked, editing everything they didn’t want or need. The results are uncluttered cabinets and drawers, where everything is easy to find and organized in a way that makes since.

Of course decluttering first, makes organizing a whole kitchen much more manageable. Next pick practical cabinet and drawer accessories, to coordinate and group kitchen essentials.

Easy Kitchen Organizing Tips For Cabinets

How do you like this idea? Storing everyday china on a bamboo plate rack makes a pretty display. The plates are less likely to get scratched or chipped. Wood racks are also handy for trays, sheet pans and cookware lids.

I also love the idea of placing a large platter behind stacks of dishes when there’s enough vertical space. It’s a pretty way to display a large platter and still have it easily accessible.

Cookware is within easy reach under the gas range with pots and lids together.  The old saying, “a place for everything and everything in its place”, comes to mind in this kitchen.

Another lower cabinet has a variety of glass food storage containers with snap on lids for leftovers. My daughter just happens to be an excellent cook so any leftover portions are happily saved for the next day.

Organizing Tips For Drawers

Storing spices in a drawer next to the cook top saves lots of back of forth steps to the pantry. Try using these foam spice liners. Just cut the foam strips to fit the depth of drawer.

Bamboo drawer divider helps organize the stainless flatware. This bamboo organizer expands to fit the width of the drawer with room for smaller bamboo boxes.

Organizing Tips For Counters

A knife block set keeps all the knives in good working condition and close to the chopping and slicing area.

My daughter definitely has her own since of style, and I just adore her little pops of color with the stoneware berry baskets. She uses these to store items such as tomatoes, garlic, shallots, and little potatoes.

As a rule, I’m not big on having the counter full of appliances or accessories. However these fun accessories don’t take up much work space, and reflect the fun personality of the little chef that resides here.
