Sometimes the best ideas are the simplest. Today I’m sharing one of those simple ideas for using bushel baskets. I’m also joining the Bountiful Fall Basket blog hop hosted by Amber from Follow The Yellow Brick Home. If you are just stopping by or joining me from Kristin’s White Arrows Home, welcome!

Fall can be a hectic time of year with work, kids, school and loads of activities. Do you need an excuse to slow down for a movie night or a game night? I look for those excuses all the time, and pulled together a few things to create a special evening on the spot.
Simple Ideas For Bushel Baskets
A bushel basket brimming with apples looked so pretty on the counter, but even better on the kitchen table with a cozy plaid throw and candles. These red and yellow beauties will soon be part of mouth-watering recipes, but for now they make a delicious centerpiece.
Don’t you just love bushel baskets in the fall? I just want to fill them to the top with fruits and vegetables, then imagine all the recipes I can whip up to impress the family.
Berry baskets are so handy to use along with the bushel baskets. Great for organizing and storage too.
How about using them to hold popcorn, chips or pretzels? Just use a paper napkin or paper towel for an insert. Clean up is a breeze and the berry baskets can be used over and over.
Apple slices with brie and prosciutto on a slate cheese board is a favorite appetizer of ours. For recipe ideas check out the post Three Easy Appetizers For Fall.
This time of year you’ll mostly see bushel baskets loaded with pumpkins, apples and mums. What kind of fall opportunities are you envisioning? Here’s a list to get you started.

How beautiful are the natural baskets filled with apples and popcorn?!? I love the understated elegance. This post screams “fall!” to me! I love your cozy throw on the table too! As you know I am mad for plaid decor! My absolute favorite details are the napkins used as liners with the little roosters! Where ever did you find those? I thought it was fabric. Too cute!
I think your family is going to enjoy a perfect fall evening with yummy fall treats!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful post. I adore the simplicity and the thought of cozying up with family in the fall. That’s what truly matters!

Hi Amber, thank you for a great blog hop! I could easily cover my whole house in plaid, instead I incorporate little bits here and there. The napkins were from Sur La Table but they no longer have them in stock. I’m thrilled you enjoyed post.
