Ingredients
  • 4large Granny Smith apples pleeled and cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • 1cup brown sugar firmly packed
  • 1tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2cup pecan piecesoptional
  • 1/3cup unsalted butter melted
  • 4cups Bread cubes about 1 inch square
  • 1cup apple cider
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl.
  3. In a large bowl toss about half the sliced apples with about a third of the brown sugar mixture. Repeat with the remainder of the apples along with the pecan pieces.
  4. In a separate bowl toss bread cubes with melted butter, then add the remaining brown sugar mixture and toss to coat.
  5. Combine bread cubes and apples. Spoon into a lightly greased 11″x7″ baking dish. Pour apple cider over the top of apple and bread mixture.
  6. Bake for about 50 to 55 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  7. Let cool for 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
