4largeGranny Smith apples pleeled and cut into 1/2 inch slices
1cupbrown sugar firmly packed
1tablespooncinnamon
1/2teaspoonnutmeg
1/2cuppecan piecesoptional
1/3cupunsalted butter melted
4cupsBread cubes about 1 inch square
1cupapple cider
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F
Mix together brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg in a bowl.
In a large bowl toss about half the sliced apples with about a third of the brown sugar mixture. Repeat with the remainder of the apples along with the pecan pieces.
In a separate bowl toss bread cubes with melted butter, then add the remaining brown sugar mixture and toss to coat.
Combine bread cubes and apples. Spoon into a lightly greased 11″x7″ baking dish. Pour apple cider over the top of apple and bread mixture.
Bake for about 50 to 55 minutes or until golden brown on top.
